HOW DO I STOP MY RABBIT DIGGING IN THEIR LITTER BOX AND KICKING THE LITTER EVERYWHERE?!
By Fiona Murphy, The Bunny Coach
Is this you?! Your bunny is CONSTANTLY using their litter tray like a dig tray, always digging it up and the litter is going everywhere?! If you are fed up cleaning up the mess, I have an easy peasy solution for you which will keep you AND your bunny happy!
Digging is a very natural behaviour for rabbits, and it's great if you can encourage it but if it makes a lot of mess in your house I can see the frustration. For those bunnies that like to dig, I recommend a covered litter tray - they sell them in most pet stores for cats. They have a hood on them and a flap door at the front.
Some bunnies will manage the flap door and it won't bother them at all, but you can pop those off really easily if your bunny won't go in or doesn't like the feel of it totally enclosed, but because it's all covered the litter stays inside the litter tray! (You can get covered litter trays with transparent hoods which can help them not feel so enclosed). They can dig to their hearts content and the mess is contained! Happy Bunny and Happy Owner!

PS As these are larger litter trays than your standard rabbit ones, make sure to measure it before you buy!
